Notice:  Seawheels is currently updated on a limited basis. In May of 2003 I moved away from the Seattle area and no one has yet taken over the site yet.  If you would like to do so contact Alex Wetmore or contact me at the link below.

No one in the Seattle area has been scheduling rides as far as I know, but if you find out otherwise. Please send me the information.

About Us....

We are a group of local cycling enthusiasts who enjoy building our own bikes (mostly recumbent) and modifying other bikes.  We've been meeting off and on since 1992.  Our goal is to share our knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for riding, modifying and building human-powered vehicles.  The group has a mailing list and this website. Currently there are no monthly events scheduled. We hope you'll find the other information here useful and interesting.

Our members have built bikes that include Short Wheelbase (SWB), Long Wheelbase (LWB), Over-seat Steering (OSS), Underseat Steering (USS), Front and Rear-wheel drive and all types/sizes of fairings.  If you're thinking of building a bike (or any part of one) they have advice and experience that can save you alot of time and frustration on your project.  Our focus is on sharing our knowledge so everyone benefits.
